Noah Alper, founder of Noah's Bagels and five other ventures, opened a single retail bagel shop in Berkeley , CA in 1989, and 6 1/2 years later sold the business for 100 million dollars. Community focus was integral to the success of the business. Learn the do's and don't’s of cause marketing and social entrepreneurship distilled from lessons learned during his 35 years of business success. 

Noah's extensive background in bringing businesses from the idea stage through successful start-up and early stage development makes him an ideal resource for executive coaching and planning.

 

About our speaker:

Noah Alper is a consultant specializing in entrepreneurial strategy, and the author of "Business Mensch-Timeless Wisdom for Today’s Entrepreneur".  All attendees will receive a copy of his book!

A serial entrepreneur, Noah Alper is the founder of six ventures, including two mega-successful food businesses—the West Coast Noah's New York Bagels chain and Bread & Circus, once the Northeast’s largest natural foods chain and now part of Whole Foods Market. Six and a half years after founding Noah’s New York Bagels, he sold the business for $100 million. At that time, it was the largest kosher retailer in the United States.

Noah is an accomplished motivational speaker, with over 35 years of business and non-profit management experience.  His experience includes concept creation, marketing , retailing, food service, and sales management.   He has been a guest speaker at the E2 Detroit Entrepreneur’s Conference, the “EO” Entrepreneur Organization, Google, the League of Women Voters and many national and local business and community groups. He has been invited to give talks at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, the University of Wisconsin School of Business and he is a student advisor at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.

Noah graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BA in Economics. He grew up in Brookline, Massachusetts, and currently resides in Berkeley, California.
